Our registered nurse will take the time to review your itinerary, provide comprehensive recommendations for safe and healthy travel, review your immunization history, and review your current and previous health conditions. The information you will receive will be specific to your destination and type of travel.
Whitehorse Travel Health Clinic has all vaccines required for travel. Recommended, routine and required immunizations for travel are offered including boosters. We follow the Yukon Immunization Manual and stay up to date with emerging literature.
Clients of any age can receive their immunizations at our clinic as our staff are fully certified to immunize all age groups. In addition to receiving vaccines that you need for travel, you can also receive routine vaccines that you may require prior to travel.
We believe in the value of avoiding the incidence of preventable illness and protecting clients’ current state of health. Therefore, we offer prescriptions for medications if necessary (ie. malaria prophylaxis, altitude sickness medication, and antidiarrheals). Strategies for malaria prevention and other mosquito-borne illnesses will be discussed during your visit. Education will be provided on how to avoid travelers' diarrhea, malaria, dengue fever, hepatitis and many other travel related illnesses to help reduce your exposure to infectious diseases.
If you require a prescription medication or have a complex medical history you will meet with our physician who has specialized training in travel health medicine to discuss recommendations specific to your needs.
